Joining us at Scrapper’s Boutique is Heather Ales! She is an altered artist and will be teaching soldering classes.
Her first class will be a “Soldering Workshop" on Saturday, March 27th from 10am - 4pm. It is an "all in one" soldering class - basically a combination of a basic introductory class and an advanced class. In the first half of this class you’ll learn the very basics of soldering (tools, supplies, and basic jewelry charm soldering). Then in the afternoon after a lunch break, we’ll move into the second half where we’ll discuss advanced soldering techniques such as bubble charms, working with bevels, shadow box charms, and decorative soldering.
At the end of our workshop, you’ll have at least three charms to showcase your new soldering skills.
All supplies for the workshop are provided – including art for your charms. However, you are welcome to bring any custom art that you would like to use. If you choose to do so, please make sure they are laser printed on plain (not photo or glossy) paper. Photo paper (matte and glossy) has a plastic coating on it which will melt under the heat of a soldering iron. You will need two images, one for the front and one for the back of your charm. If you do choose to bring custom art, they will need to be the following sizes: four sized to 1"x1”, two sized to 3/4", and four sized to 1-1/2 "x1-1/2”.
The fee for this class is $90.
